New Employee Benefits Orientation
The Division of Human Resources is thrilled to welcome you to Virginia Tech!
We conduct New Employee Benefits Orientation by Zoom for all new employees. New hires are scheduled to attend an orientation meeting within the first month of employment due to the benefits enrollment deadline.
The following are some of the important new hire benefits discussed during our half-day orientation meeting:
Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the Zoom app from Zoom's website. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click a join link sent by HR.
We recommend joining a test meeting to familiarize yourself with Zoom prior to your orientation session.
Each meeting has a unique 9, 10, or 11-digit number called a meeting ID that will be required to join a Zoom meeting sent typically a couple of days before your New Employee Orientation date. If you are joining via telephone, you will need the teleconferencing number provided in the invite.

Following your orientation session
Please submit forms using the Division of HR Secure E-Drop Box. This safely allows submission of all your forms directly to HR Staff.
You can also send files by fax to 540-231-3830 if necessary.
