Retirement Updates:

Fall VRS and ORP Retirement Sessions will be in November. Additional information on each session including links can be found in the VT News.

VRS Hybrid members who are not contributing the additional 4 percent to the voluntary plan, will experience an auto-escalation by .5 percent in January 2026. Additional information can be found on the Auto-Escalation page.

Regular and restricted full-time and part-time salaried staff are covered by the Virginia Retirement System. Faculty employees may participate in the Virginia Retirement System or in an Optional Retirement Plan.

Voluntary retirement plans (403(b) and 457) allow you to invest additional money pre-tax or post-tax.
