Mandatory Title IX and Retaliation workshop

The federal government is requiring all salaried Virginia Tech employees to attend a "Title IX and Retaliation" workshop before Jan. 31, 2015. Registration is required.

Employees must use annual leave during winter break

The university will be closed for winter break from noon on Wed., Dec. 24, 2014 through Fri., Jan. 2, 2015 – reopen on Mon., Jan. 5, 2015.

Use it or lose it

Employees who have more leave that is allowed to be carried over into the new year must use it or lose it before Jan. 10, 2015 when all annual leave in excess of the maximum carryover will be lost, and family sick, family and personal, personal sick, and community service leave balances will be replenished. 

Impact of same sex ruling on health benefits

Employees whose same-sex marriage occurred prior to Oct. 6, 2014 have until Thursday Dec. 4, 2014 to submit enrollment requests for eligible family members. Newly married employees may add spouses and eligible dependents within 60 days from the date of marriage. Learn more.
