Attendance

Departments have their own guidelines or standards for attendance. Employees should contact their supervisor for information. The following guidelines apply to all departments.

Excessive absences, unauthorized absences, leaving work without notifying a supervisor, or not following university and departmental requirements may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.

Absences and tardiness

Employees who are going to be late, need to leave early, or will be absent, must notify their supervisor before the beginning of the work day or as soon as possible. Employees should follow their department's procedures and guidelines.

Leaving the worksite

Employees must notify their supervisors prior to leaving their designated work area. Employees should follow their department's procedures and guidelines.

Unauthorized absences

All absences must be approved by the supervisor. Follow university guidelines and/or procedures when unable to report to work, altering work schedules, or being tardy.

Unscheduled absences

Employees should notify their supervisors prior to being absent from work. When it is not possible to avoid an unscheduled absence from work, the employee must notify the supervisor as soon as possible and must follow departmental procedures for notification.
