Virginia Tech's Policy against Harassment and Discrimination

Virginia Tech does not discriminate against employees, students, or applicants on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, genetic information, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status. Discrimination or harassment is addressed by Virginia Tech's Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy, Policy 1025.

The university is subject to Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Federal Executive Order 11246 (1965), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008, Virginia Executive Order No. 6 (2010), and all other rules and regulations that are applicable.

If you feel you're being harassed or discriminated against, please get help. There are many options available for addressing problem behaviors, both informal and formal. 

Workshops and Training

Our workshops are designed to be respectful of and helpful to audience members, and to provide ample opportunity for participation. 

Open Registration Workshops for 2012

Workshops on harassment prevention and complaint handling may be scheduled for your department. There are also open registration sessions available approximately once a month for all supervisors, managers, faculty and administrators. What to Expect when Contacting US

Contact us to schedule an initial appointment to discuss your situation with us. We normally set aside an hour to speak with you. When you visit us, we will ask you to describe your situation and your view of what is going on, so that we can fully understand the situation. There is no need to bring evidence or documentation to your appointment, since at this point there is no need to prove anything.
