A volunteer program designed for retirees and business professionals who want to "give-back" to the university by sharing their talents, skills, and experiences.

    Experts in Action

"Baby Boomers" are retiring and many are moving back to their university towns to enjoy the spirit, enthusiasm, and quality of life that their alma mater offers.

More importantly, they want to stay involved with their college and "give-back" by sharing their time and experiences.  Blacksburg and Virginia Tech are no exception to this trend.  The Experts in Action program is designed to link the volunteer talents to the departments who can apply their skills in meaningful, results-oriented projects.

  • Any department interested in engaging these professional volunteer resources, should complete the Job Description
  • Retirees/professionals who are interested in volunteering their time to the university should complete the Information Sheet Listing background experience, interest areas, and time commitment
