APPLICANT SEMINAR

Virginia Tech On-Line Job Application Assistance

The Human Resources Department offers an Applicant Seminar twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Thursday.

What is an Applicant Seminar?

The Applicant Seminar is a 1-hour seminar designed to assist applicants with the entire application process: including creating a new state application on-line, fine tuning an existing application, assistance in understanding the employment process at Virginia Tech, and with searching for vacant positions.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in becoming more familiar with our on-line application system or the application process may attend; this includes current employees, new applicants, re-visiting applicants, and former employees.

Why should I attend?

Attending this seminar will better prepare you to complete the application process, allow you to get answers to important questions, and improve your ability to get a job at Virginia Tech.

Where and when is the seminar held?

The seminar is held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. The 1st Thursday session will be conducted from 12 noon – 1:00pm and the 3rd Thursday session will be conducted from 3:30 – 4:30pm. The seminar will be held at Southgate Center, Room PS Comp 155. Please contact the Human Resources Department at 540-231-9331 to register.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

If you are interested in completing your application at the conclusion of the seminar, please bring information, such as previous work and education history, references (names & addresses), and resume.

If you can not attend one of the scheduled seminars or if you have questions or need additional information, please contact Human Resources at (540) 231-9331, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.
