Effective July 1, 2006, the university will have two groups of salaried non-faculty employees: those covered by the Virginia Personnel Act and State Human Resource policies (Classified Staff) and those covered under University Human Resource policies (University Staff). All new salaried non-faculty staff, including transfers from other state agencies, hired on or after July 1, 2006, are hired as University Staff and will be covered under University Human Resource policies. Applicant Seminar
Virginia Tech On-Line Job Application Assistance
The Applicant Seminar is a one-hour seminar designed to assist applicants with the entire application process for staff and wage positions: creating a state application on-line, fine tuning an existing application, assistance with understanding the VT employment process, and assistance with searching for vacant staff and/or wage positions.
The Human Resources Department offers the Applicant Seminar twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Thursday. The first Thursday session is conducted from 12:00 noon - 1:00pm. The third Thursday session is conducted from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. The seminar is held at Human Resources in Southgate Center, Room 155.
