Most athletic events on campus are free, and discounted season tickets are available for men's basketball and football games. Employees with a faculty/staff parking permit may park in the designated lots and ride the shuttle for free.
McComas Hall and War Memorial Hall both have a pool available for lap swim and open family swim. Swim lessons are offered for adults and children.

Salaried employees have the opportunity to play Intramural Sports. A participant must purchase a membership for a minimal cost and can then play any sport throughout the year.
Virginia Tech’s Moss Arts Center presents renowned artists from around the globe and from close to home, with a special focus on experiences that expand cultural awareness and deepen understanding. Uniquely partnered with the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology, the Moss Arts Center houses the Street and Davis Performance Hall and its Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, visual art galleries, the experimental venue the Cube, and research studios.
All new employees receive the opportunity to sign up for a 30-day trial membership at McComas Hall gym. Discounted memberships at McComas Hall are available to salaried employees. Group fitness classes are also available to employees for an additional fee. War Memorial Hall’s admission is free with Hokie Passport and provides students, faculty, and staff an area to pursue many different sport and recreational activities, such as racquetball, basketball, aerobics, and swimming; group fitness classes are also available at War Memorial Gym for a nominal fee.
Recreational Sports also offers group fitness classes, small group training, instructional dance classes, personal training, and fitness assessments for a small fee. The fitness area also puts on special events throughout the year including, Ladies Night in the Weightroom, Men’s Only Yoga, and the University Bookstore Bench Press Competition.
Venture Out offers fun, safe, and educational outdoor services to students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech. Venture Out provides exciting outdoor trips, rental equipment, and serves as a resource for all outdoor adventure information.
War Memorial Chapel is available to students, faculty, staff, or visitors who need a calm, quiet place to get away from the everyday bustle of life-- to meditate, to pray, to sit quietly.
Recreational Sports offers four different programs for children from the ages of six months old to 16 years old. Through swim lessons, gymnastics lessons, yoga classes and Zumba® classes, young people have the opportunity to be active and learn a new skill.
