HR Service Center

Whether you’re a new, veteran, or retired employee, the HR Service Center can help you with all of your human resources needs. Virginia Tech employees in Blacksburg and across the country are encouraged to reach out to the HR Service Center with questions.

The HR Service Center was established in 2008 to serve as a first point of contact for employees to inquire about a wide range of topics, from the hiring process to benefits. The center is staffed full-time.

The representatives have an extensive knowledge of:

  • State and university policies and procedures as they relate to health and life insurance
  • Deferred and defined benefit plans (403(b), 401(a), 457(b))
  • Tuition waivers
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Leave
  • the Virginia Retirement System, Fidelity, and TIAA-CREF programs
  • Programs used at the university, including Banner and PeopleAdmin
